SWEET SWEET SWEET SWEET SWEET

There's this Meese show next month at the Bluebird, and it used to be 21+, but their new blog on purevolume.com says it's all ages now. SWEET SWEET SWEET. I had to give up a Meese show later this month for Augustana, and that is one of the hardest things I've ever done. Can you tell I am completely and totally addicted to them? I'm having withdrawl right now, actually. SO I'M SO EXCITEDDD.

AND AND AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE? THEY RELEASED THEIR LYRICS FINIINFIFNFINALLY... Shelly, we were right! WOOO (I boldfaced everything I messed up before):

Taking The World On

and it ends like this
with a quote from an 80's song
"sing me to sleep"
she was hoping for it all along
i took the letter from my bed
and blacked out every line i read
except for seven words
that made so much sense to her

it's like one voice in the choir
burried by the rest

holding our breath til there's nothing left
it's too hard taking the world on
too hard taking the world on

she's the one true artist
the last of a dying breed
an unguarded heart is
the one thing you'll never need
the snow has never looked like this
the city never stops to rest
she's off to start a war
is this worth fighting for?

this is like the flash that lights up your picture
coming from the crowd

throwing fists through the air when there's no one there
it's too hard taking the world on
too hard taking the world on

carving our names so the past remains
it's too hard taking the world on
too hard taking the world on

stand up, the keys, and then the car
drive up, the porch, and then the door
two knocks, the lock,
and there you are
say what i could not say before

standing our ground til the walls come down
it's too hard taking the world on
too hard taking the world on

I love how you can tell Nathan typed these out.

...and I finished my Vail thing, I just have to piece it together so it makes sense. UP IN A HALF HOUR AT MOST
Dear world,

Please save fifteen dollars and do yourself a favor by getting Hanson's "UNDERNEATH" album if you haven't already. DO IT, okay? It's ...mindblowing.

Dear Liz,

Thank you for suggesting I watch Strong Enough to Break so I could fall in love will all the songs. You made me get Underneath. (I know this was your original intention ;) )

Dear Twist & Shout,

Thank you for having that last copy of Underneath even though your prices are kindasorta ridiculous. Thank you for being right across the street from my school.

flash that lights up your picture

And it ends like this
With a quote from a needy song
Sing me to sleep
She was hopin' for all along
I took the letter from my bed
And blacked out every line I read
Except for seven words
They made so much sense to her
It's like one voice in the choir
Buried by the rest

Holdin' our breath
Till there's nothin' left
It's too hard takin' the wold on
Too hard takin' the world on

She's a one true artist
The last of a dying breed
An unguarded heart is
The one thing you'll never need
The snow has never looked like this
The city never stops to rest
She's off to start a war
Is this worth fighting for
This is like the flash
That lights up your picture
Coming from the crowd

Throw fists through the air
When there's no one there
It's too hard takin' the world on
Too hard takin' the world on

Carving our names
So the past remains
It's too hard takin' the world on
Too hard takin' the world on

Takin' the world on
Takin' the world on
Takin' the world on

Stand up(?)
The keys and then the cards(?)
Robbed of(?)
The porch and then the door(?)
To lock the lock(?)

And there you are
Say what I could not say before
Standing our ground
Till the walls come down

It's too hard takin' the world on
Too hard takin' the world on

Mar. 28th, 2007

Got sick of the old layout. I don't really like this one, either.. I was going to use one from _premadelayouts, but I was too lazy to figure that out completely.

It's really depressing that spring break is half-over and I haven't done anything. I watched Almost Famous again.. if you haven't seen that movie, you should. I guess people who don't completely and totally love bands wouldn't understand, but whetever. It was one of the best movies I've seen. I should be reading or cleaning or something. ...Oh well.

Pictures coming soon.
Concert's in two days; I cannot explain how excitied I am. But now that it's here I'm not ready for it at all. I have so much I need to do! And it's snowing again, so we need to cross our fingers and hope it won't snow too much tomorrow afternoon/Saturday. One thing I know for sure is that it will be absolutely freezing in Vail. Uh ohs.

Checklist sounds nice. Maybe it'll motivate me to do some stuff.

I'm really hoping Audrey didn't pull out for good.

In other news, the Augustana concert is on the 19th. Eeeeeeeeeeek, I am so excited to see them again. They are some of the most kind people you will ever meet. I hope we're able to give them a CD of the photos we took because they're not nearly as amazing when you have to send them at 1/5 the size. And if any of you have songs by them that aren't on the CDs, I'll love you forever if you send them to me. I went on a rampage to find other stuff by them a while ago, and only pulled out with 5 or so songs - only one of them not on the albums. Going crazy here!
As I sit here in pain, I wish I had something better to write about.

I got all four wisdom teeth pulled on Firday. The majority of the pain and swelling was supposed to be over today or yesterday, but instead, it has steadily increased. I'm hopped up on percaset and alive, but it's worse than it's ever been. I'm really sick of this whole not being able to eat solid foods thing, too. And on top of all this, I'm not allowed to sneeze, spit, blow my nose, use a straw, etc., because the top two were so far up that they had to go extremely close to my sinuses. I look and feel like a ridiculous chipmunk. Someone help!

So as if that wasn't bad enough, I have gotten NO Christmas shopping done. That's right. It's Christmas Eve, and I have no presents to give. I AM happy that we'll have a white Christmas, but gooooooodness, everything hit with such bad timing.
